Background

Christopher W. Young, Ph.D., is a Partner based in the New York and Los Angeles offices, specializing in preparing complex economic loss and valuation calculations. Dr. Young also directs corporate and criminal financial investigations and assists corporations with CFO services, including M&A, turnaround situations, divestitures, capital raises, and financial strategic advisory services. Dr. Young has approximately thirty (30) years of experience valuing companies, partnerships, intangible assets, and related non-marketable securities, and in working with C-level executives, attorneys, bankers, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, government officials, and others.  

Before Resolution Economics, Dr. Young was the founder of Red Maple Economics, a forensic and economic consulting firm, and held senior and executive-level positions in finance, strategy, M&A, partnerships, sales, and product development for Fortune 1,000 companies such as Thomson Reuters, Dow Jones (NewsCorp.), and CIT (Newcourt Financial, Dell Venture Products). He also held positions at private equity and investment banks including ComVest Ventures and Berkery Noyes Investment Bank, where he negotiated, managed, and implemented partnerships, JVs, and acquisitions.  

Dr. Young was previously a full-time Associate Professor at Rutgers School of Business, teaching business ethics and strategy. Prior to Rutgers, Chris  was a professor of economics, finance, and political economy at Seton Hall University’s Stillman School of Business and School of Diplomacy.

Dr. Young is a member of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts, a member of the Collegium of Pecuniary Damages Experts, and a member of the Society for Business Ethics. He is also a member and former Vice President and Board Member of the National Association of Forensic Economics.

Chris holds a Ph.D. and M.B.A. in global political economy, finance, and accounting from Rutgers University. He is taking courses toward an additional master’s degree focused on behavioral economics from Harvard University. Additionally, Dr. Young regularly writes and publishes in economics, finance, and accounting peer-reviewed journals and magazines.
