Andrew Cook, Ph.D.

Economist

Andrew J. Cook is an Economist at Resolution Economics LLC, an economics and statistics consulting firm with offices in Los Angeles and Chicago. He holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University, with concentrations in labor economics and health economics, and a B.A. in English Literature from the University of California, San Diego. Prior to graduate school, Dr. Cook spent several years at Resolution Economics as a consultant, senior consultant, and project manager. Before joining Resolution Economics, Dr. Cook worked as a paralegal for the law firm Irell & Manella LLP.

 

Dr. Cook has extensive experience in analyzing a broad range of issues in both employment discrimination and wage and hour settings. He has created and managed complex data structures, and has conducted numerous statistical and econometric analyses. He has worked in litigation, mediation, and consulting settings, and the scope of his work ranges across class action and single plaintiff matters. The types of discrimination claims he has studied include claims based on race, gender, age, etc., and have involved a variety of employment practices, from recruitment and hiring, through promotion and pay, to termination. Dr. Cook has also performed a variety of analyses in wage and hour disputes, covering exemption and other classification claims, to meal and rest allegations, and various other pay practices. Dr. Cook has testified at deposition and submitted an expert report in state court.
